Work Experience
1967 Emigrated to Australia
1967-1970 Variety of casual jobs around Australia including farm work, stainless steel sink polishing and working in hotels.
1970 - 1980 Australian Broadcasting Commission. Rural Dept, Based in Perth, Geraldton, Bunbury, Maryborough (Q), Brisbane and Sydney
1980 - 1988 Founder and proprietor of Harper Seed Company, a business that specialised in the selection and production of Australian annual species for both the domestic and export market. Developed production and cleaning techniques for many species new to cultivation. Business sold in 1988.

1988 – Established a consultancy based upon horticultural advice, media presentation, pictorial plant library and computer applications for horticulture and plant water demand analysis. Clients and projects include
Perth Zoo Plant species, distribution, mapping and recommendations for fodder production
WA Dept of Agriculture Re-establish the Agwest Garden Advisory Centre
WA Water Authority (subsequently the Water Corporation) Principal consultant from 1990 to the present on 'Waterwise Gardening" including researching and writing Waterwise brochures, leaflets, information sheets and web pages, the development of the Award winning ‘Waterwise Plants for Perth Gardens’ and 'Waterwise Plants for WA' databases and the development and presentation of specialised Waterwise Training courses for many groups within the horticultural industry including Nurseries and Garden Centres, Lawnmowers, School Gardeners, Bunnings and Local Government.
